At The Salish Sea School in Anacortes, Washington, the map on the wall mirrors the world just outside its doors. The nonprofit’s work is rooted in the waters and shorelines of the Salish Sea, where its programs bring students and adults together for hands-on education, exploration, research, and conservation.

For the School’s space, we created a custom nautical chart wallpaper mural centered on Anacortes and the San Juan Islands. The chart was carefully scaled to the wall, with The Salish Sea School logo incorporated directly into the design.

Islands, channels, depth soundings, navigational details, and familiar place names create a layered backdrop, connecting the interior to the same waterways that shape the School’s work.

The finished mural feels completely at home in the space: a richly detailed portrait of the waters the School explores, studies, and works to protect.
